generation Y designers - Mary Katrantzou

Mary Katrantzou, my imaginary competitor. Her garment shape is extremely simple, and mostly woven. There is lacking a sense of movement in the design. Both she and IVH designs with photoshop. Photoshop can generate 2.5D, almost 3D-like imagery. My goal is to go beyond that boundary and design real 3D imagery with 3D software.

generation Y designers- Iris Van Herpen

Iris Van Herpen and 3D printing technology. The collections are mind-opening but more like an art installation rather than wearable fashion, amazingly they were presented on the catwalk with the other classic couture collections. After Martin Mergiela left, IVH might be the most daring collections among all the couture shows.
